Welcome

 I am a British-born jazz saxophonist and composer, inspired by the warm tones of legendary tenor saxophonists such as Stan Getz, Dexter Gordon, Ben Webster, Lester Young and Zoot Sims amongst others.

After discovering a passion for jazz music in my early childhood in the 1980’s, my ambition to learn to play the saxophone became a reality at the age of 13, after proving my commitment to learning the clarinet from the age of 9.

I went on to study jazz performance and composition at Leeds College of Music (now Leeds Conservatoire), playing both alto and tenor saxophones, and moved to Denmark in 2004, where I currently reside today.

My debut single, 'Janne', was composed in 2015 as a thank you gift for an undergraduate psychologist who helped me immensely during her time working as a volunteer  🙏

Giving someone the gift of an original piece of music is incredibly nerve wracking, but absolutely worth it when it is received with such appreciation ❤️

The single reached over 10,000 Spotify streams within just 11 weeks of it's release!

The tune 'Sarah' is a bossa nova and was written for a very close, childhood friend 🥰

I have had a huge passion for bossa nova since my early childhood after listening to Getz/Gilberto on the radio performing Jobim’s music.

This is actually the first bossa nova that I have ever written, despite having played many bossa novas over the years, so I really hope that it does the genre justice 🤞🏻

BEANIE'S Bossa

Written for and dedicated to my youngest niece, this is an up-tempo, playful, feel-good summer bossa nova (with a hint of swing) and contains references to my native country, England, and cheeky childhood playground chants.

Smile

This is my take on what is probably Charlie Chaplin's most well-known tune, 'Smile', that I arranged and recorded as a gift for a close friend who is very fond of the tune.

‘Smile’ was originally used in the 1936 film, 'Modern Times', and the lyrics weren't added until 18 years later in 1954.

Keeping this version purely instrumental, it's played as a waltz. Hope you enjoy listening 😃

Håbets Farve (The Colour of Hope) is written to raise money for the charity, Psykiatrifonden.

For someone who battles psychologically themself, it’s really meaningful to raise awareness about mental illness, and Psykiatrifonden does amazing work in doing so.
